Ukraine is a hotspot of the current global security architecture. With Crimea annexed by Russia and a full-fledged conventional military conflict unfolding in Donbas, the future of Ukraine’s contested sovereignty predetermines whether revisionism will reign over the world politics for the years to come. This roundtable seeks to shed a light on the security implications of the conflict in Ukraine for the V-4, EU, and wider European neighbourhood. The focus will be also on the shift in Ukraine’s security posture in the region and its strategic thinking. This is to be undertaken with the analysis of the policies of the major international actors involved. Special attention is to be paid to V-4 states ‘, in particular, Slovak Republic’s, responses.
The Strategic Talks project is a series of public lectures and discussions on global security in Slovakia. The ambition of Strategic Talks is to build bridges between experts, scholars, media and the general public to explain and promote pressing issues of contemporary security and international politics. Through open Strategic Talks events we would like to contribute and enhance public debate in Slovakia.
