Strategic Dialogues: Western Balkan Security Perspectives

The first edition of Strategic Dialogues was in Western Balkans. The first two events took place on 10. 10. 2017 in Sarajevo and on 11. 10. 2017 in Banja Luka.

Final report summarising the main talking points, challenges and outcome is available here

Western Balkans is historically one of the most dynamically changing regions of Europe. It is placed at the crossroads between Central and Eastern Europe, and thus forms a crucial link in the chain of security for both regions. To ensure the persisting security, despite the changing security environment, constructive and permanent dialogue between the two regions is necessary. The dialogue can provide each side with the perspectives of the other. In this way, our mutual understanding of reality becomes more accurate, which in turn forms a sounder basis to formulate effective policies in the areas of regional security.

  • Consists of 4 expert panels in Western Balkans.
  • Develops a discussion and exchange of experience between Western Balkans and Central Europe.
  • It tackles contemporary security issues and political challenges.
