STRATPOL’s activities related to Ukraine are covering research, events and trainings organized in Ukraine, as well as in Slovakia and other Central European (V4) countries.
Its staff (Robert Ondrejcsák, Elemír Nečej, Beata Górka Winter) led and organized, in cooperation with Open Ukraine Foundation, several long-term flagship projects with focus on capacity building in the field of security sector reform, communication, strategic documents and Euro-Atlantic integration. Participants of these trainings and workshops are experts from the governmental institutions (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces), think-tanks and NGOs, media representatives. Besides targeting Kyiv in its capacity-building activities, STRATPOL considers it crucial also to include regional centers of Ukraine, as Odessa, Lviv etc.
Besides trainings and workshops, STRATPOL experts are conducting research in cooperation with Ukrainian colleagues, for instance from Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and Ukrainian Foreign Policy Council “Prism”. Among our recent publications is “Ukraine, Central Europe and the future of European security”, edited by Robert Ondrejcsák and Grigoriy Perepelitsa.
Young professionals from Ukraine are regularly involved into STRATPOL’s Summer school – an intellectual forum for experts from Central Europe to exchange the opinions on security issues.
In Slovakia STRATPOL’s efforts focus on providing security-related objective analysis to the public, expert community, media as well as young professionals. By doing this, it makes its contribution into countering widespread disinformation campaigns in the national security field.
