STRATPOL’s staff has a strong record of conducting activities in Georgia related to security sector reform (trainings and workshops), research and publication activities, as well as international conferences. Among our achievements is the annual South Caucasus Security Forum, organized in cooperation with the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS), Tbilisi. Conducted since 2013, the Forum became one of the top international security platforms in the South Caucasus, bringing together decision-makers, including Prime Minister, Speaker of Parliament, Ministers and State Secretaries, not only from the region but also from wider Europe. With around 400 participants from 4 continents, South Caucasus Security Forum has proved to have a serious impact on the level of security debates in the region.
Besides the Forum, STRATPOL’s staff have organized and conducted numerous security sector reform trainings and workshops in Tbilisi, tailored for representatives of Georgian governmental institutions, as well as NGOs. Armenian and Azerbaijani participants were also engaged to some of these events.
We also prepared a study material, specially commissioned for Georgian Defence Academy in Gori – Introduction to Security Studies (2014, 334 pages).
